Accommodation

There are many accommodation options in Sandton including hotels, guesthouses, AirBnBs, etc. We recommend that you stay within walking distance of the Sandton Convention Centre to make getting to the festival venue as easy as possible.

The Southern Sun Group includes the following options which can be booked here (rates and rooms subject to availability):

• Five star - Sandton Sun & Towers - single from R3050.00 (400m from venue)
• Four star - Southern Sun Sandton - single from R1425.00 (950m)
• Three star - Garden Court Sandton City - single from R1485.00 (150m)

How to travel

The most convenient airport to fly into when visiting Johannesburg is OR Tambo International, 30km from the venue and served by many domestic and international airlines.

Travel from the airport

The best travel option from OR Tambo International Airport is the high-speed Gautrain to Sandton Station, followed by an Uber or alternate ride hailing service.

Weather

Johannesburg is about 1700m above sea level and has one of the world’s best climates. The African Biotrade Festival is in September, which is early Spring, with cool evenings and generally mild to warm days. It is unlikely to rain. There is no malaria risk in Johannesburg.
